1MDB board 'a bunch of toothless tigers': Sri Ram

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram (pic) has described the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) board of directors as "a bunch of toothless tigers" as they failed to protect then prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and properly advise him on company matters.

The former Federal Court judge leading the prosecution team in the trial of Najib, who is facing four corruption charges involving RM2.3bil of 1MDB funds and 21 money laundering charges involving the same amount, suggested this when querying former 1MDB non-executive director Tan Sri Ismee Ismail, 57.
