Man dies, another injured after falling off a Ferris wheel in Cheras

KAJANG: One man died and another was left injured after falling off a Ferris wheel here.

Deputy OCPD Supt Mohd Sabri Abdullah, in a statement on Thursday (Nov 11), said the police were notified of the incident at 12.05am on Thursday.

"A worker at the funfair near a popular Cheras mall here told the police that two men had fallen off the ride.

"One of the victims, a 39-year-old man, died while the other victim, in his thirties, was rushed to the Kajang hospital for treatment.

"As of now, no criminal elements have been identified and the police are still investigating the case to identify if the fall was a result of negligence from the funfair operators, or from the victims themselves.

"The investigation paper has been classified as a sudden death report," he said.

Supt Mohd Sabri urged all to not speculate on the incident and that investigations was still underway.
