KULAI: A policeman died on the spot from severe head injuries after his motorcycle rammed into the rear of a car.
Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said the incident took place at KM20.9 northbound along the North-South Express (NSE) on Friday (Oct 22) at around 12.15pm.
He said the 35-year old victim was a lance corporal stationed at the Johor Baru North police headquarters.
“The accident involved a motorbike ridden by the victim and a car driven by a 31-year-old male,’’ Supt Tok said in a statement.
He said initial investigation showed the victim hit the rear of the car, which abruptly entered the left lane after overtaking another vehicle.
Supt Tok said the vehicles, which were involved in the accident, would be brought to Puspakom in Senai for inspection.
He said the victim’s body has been sent to Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital here for post-mortem, adding that the car driver escaped unhurt.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
