Air Selangor: Water supply to Sepang, Kuala Langat to be fully restored by late Wednesday (Oct 20)

PETALING JAYA: Water supply to 156 areas in Sepang and Kuala Langat, which was disrupted by a burst pipe, is expected to be fully restored by late Wednesday (Oct 20).

"The emergency repair work is expected to be completed by 6pm today (Oct 19).

"Following that, the water supply is estimated to be distributed in stages to 145 affected areas in the Sepang region and 11 affected areas in the Kuala Langat region starting from 6:30pm today.

"The water supply is expected to fully recover at 6pm, Oct 20, 2021," Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd's corporate communication head Elina Baseri said in a statement on Tuesday (Oct 19).

Water supply to the affected areas was disrupted following a burst water pipe near Simpang 3 LBJ, Jalan B48, Kg. Chinchang, Salak Tinggi, Sepang.

Elina noted that that emergency repair works were carried out immediately by Air Selangor with 29% of remedial work completed as of 6am on Tuesday morning.

"Air Selangor’s onsite staff were faced with some challenges as the burst pipe is located near the river.

"As such, the process of strengthening the river banks must be conducted first before the emergency repair work can be implemented," she added.
