Senior citizen found dead in her Simpang Renggam home

KLUANG: A 67-year-old woman was found dead in her house by her neighbour in Jalan Langsat, Taman Orkid, Simpang Renggam here.

Renggam Fire and Rescue Department operations commander senior officer Abd Rahman Razali said the victim, identified as Wong Soon Thai, was found unconscious at the front door of the house at about 10am on Monday (Oct 18).

“A team of seven men with one fire truck were deployed to the location where they found the victim lying unconscious in front of her front door.

“The team had to cut away the grille gate. The medical staff then pronounced the woman dead after examining her body,” he said in a statement.

He added that the woman had been living alone.

Her body was handed over to the police for further action.

Kluang deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Abdul Razak Abdullah Sani confirmed that police received a report on the incident.

“Initial investigations revealed that there were no signs of criminal activity and the body was taken to Hospital Enche' Besar Hajjah Kalsom for post-mortem,” he said, adding that the case had been classified as sudden death.
