Melaka goes to the polls on Nov 20

MELAKA: Nomination Day for the Melaka state polls will be on Nov 8 and voting is on Nov 20, says the Election Commission.

In a press conference on Monday (Oct 18), EC chairman Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh also said early voting would take place on Nov 16.

Melaka faces a state election after four assemblymen withdrew their support for the Barisan Nasional/Perikatan Nasional-led state government on Oct 4.

Melaka Speaker Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusof confirmed that Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Dr Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam had agreed to dissolve the assembly on Oct 5.
