LHDN appoints Mohd Nizom as new CEO


KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) deputy chief executive officer (Taxation Operations) Datuk Mohd Nizom Sairi (pic) has been appointed as its new chief executive officer effective Tuesday (Oct 19).

In a statement Monday (Oct 18), LHDN said Mohd Nizom is replacing Datuk Seri Dr Sabin Samitah.

"LHDN expresses its highest appreciation to Datuk Seri Dr Sabin Samitah for his contributions during his tenure at LHDN," it said.

Mohd Nizom, 58, who holds a master's degree from Lawrence Technological University in the United States, joined LHDN on Nov 13, 1985.

He has extensive experience in direct taxation including tax operations, tax compliance and collection, international taxation and tax training.

Prior to holding the portfolio of deputy CEO, Mohd Nizom held several important positions at LHDN including as directors of the Investigation Department, Malaysian Taxation Academy, Tax Compliance Department and as state director of Perak LHDN. He also held the position of deputy CEO (Management).

Apart from congratulating Mohd Nizom on his appointment as CEO, LHDN said his vast experience will enable the board to achieve its vision to become the best tax administrator in line with the aspiration to build an inclusive "Malaysian Family". - Bernama
