KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territories Ministry will ensure that all complaints regarding damaged roads in Kuala Lumpur are resolved within 24 hours, and its Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim has even revealed his phone number where he can be reached directly.

Shahidan (BN-Arau) said Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) is always monitoring roads near construction sites and hotspots in Kuala Lumpur and usually needed to repair roads within 24 hours.

He said anyone was free to contact him, his deputy Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias and KL Mayor Datuk Seri Mahadi Che Ngah.

"After discussing with DBKL, all information regarding broken roads must be addressed immediately within 24 hours.

"YBs can call me at 019-454 1111; the deputy minister (019-652 444) as well as the mayor at 016-206 8883.

"We are ready 24 hours a day and Malaysians can contact us and we will take action within 24 hours," he said during his winding-up speech on the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) in Parliament on Thursday (Oct 7).

Shahidan's pledge received a positive response from fellow MPs, among them P. Prabakaran (PH-Batu), who stood up and thanked Shahidan.

"Thank you for giving out your phone number and pledging to take action within 24 hours," said Prabakaran, as several MPs were heard clapping.
