JPJ counters to fully open and allow walk-ins starting Sept 6, says Dr Wee

PUTRAJAYA: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) service counters will be operating at 100% capacity and will allow walk-in clients beginning Sept 6.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said those who want to perform transactions at JPJ counters must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

"This is a necessary precaution to safeguard the public's health as well as that of the staff on duty during this unprecedented period," he said at a press conference on Friday (Sept 3).

Visitors' MySejahtera applications must also show low-risk status, he said.

Dr Wee said that JPJ will cease the online appointment system in favour of walk-ins for fully vaccinated clients at counters.

"At the same time, the public is also encouraged to use existing online services on JPJ's mySIKAP or the ones provided by its strategic partners.

"This is to reduce crowds at JPJ branches and ensure a more positive experience for the public when renewing their driving licences and road tax," he said.
