Covid-19: Sabah breaks daily record with 2,103 new cases, KK still biggest hotspot

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded yet another all time high for daily Covid-19 numbers with 2,103 new cases on Aug 17 (Tuesday).

Minister in charge of Covid-19 matters in Sabah, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said out of these cases, Kota Kinabalu continued to contribute the highest at 467 new cases.

He said close contacts also made up the largest group at over 58% (1,229 cases).

Tawau saw 255 new cases, followed by Sandakan at 208, Tuaran at 200, Keningau with 163 new cases and Penampang at 135 new cases.

He said a new cluster was recorded as well, and that is the Kluster Sawit Baiduri in Lahad Datu with 77 positive cases.
