Businessman with criminal record shot dead, motive being probed


SUNGAI BULOH: A businessman has died after being shot multiple times by unknown assailants while he was driving near a golf course at Bukit Rahman Putra here.

It was learnt that the 42-year-old victim was driving a Range Rover luxury SUV when a Toyota Hilux and Lexus approached his vehicle on Monday (Aug 16).

Shots were fired at the victim and three bullets hit his body.

The gunmen then fled the scene.

The victim was rushed to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment but died from his injuries.

It was learnt that the victim had a criminal record.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed confirmed the incident when contacted.

"We are still investigating the motive behind the shooting," he said.

Separately, state CID chief Senior Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faizal said the victim died at the hospital around 2.45pm.

"We have classified the case as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code," he said.

So far, no arrest has been made.
