Covid-19: 18,688 new cases bring total to 1,262,540


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 18,688 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (Aug 8), bringing the cumulative total to 1,262,540.

In the same 24-hour period, there was a record of 360 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 10,749.

There were also 17,055 recoveries, which means 1,026,398 have recovered from the disease nationwide.

There are still 1,095 patients in intensive care units, with 571 requiring ventilation support.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases at 6,565, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,883) and Kedah (1,610).
