Row of GOF barracks in Sibu razed by fire

Firemen fighting the blaze that burned down a row of 10th GOF barracks.

SIBU: A row of barracks belonging to the 10th General Operations Force (GOF) here has been razed by fire.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Services Department said it

received a distress call at 11.30am on Thursday (Aug 5) about a fire which broke out in the GOF barracks located in Jalan Lanang here.

It added that nine firefighters who were dispatched to the scene managed to douse the flames at 12.09pm.

"All 16 units in the row of barracks were destroyed in the fire," it said.

There were no casualties or injuries reported.
