Two women nabbed in drug raid

KUALA LUMPUR: Two women in their 30s were detained in connection with trafficking in drugs following a raid at an apartment in Jalan Klang Lama.

Brickfields deputy OCPD Supt Basri Sagoni said police also seized an assortment of drugs from the apartment unit, including 2.9kg of heroin and 261g of methamphetamine during the raid at about 7.50am on July 30.

“Both suspects tested positive for drugs,” he said yesterday. The police will investigate further to identify the syndicate involved in the trafficking of drugs, he added.

“The drugs seized, worth about RM43,750, could have supplied 1,730 addicts. Both suspects have been remanded until Aug 6.”
