Maqis seizes 24,987 kg of frozen beef from Australia


SHAH ALAM (Bernama): The Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services Department (Maqis) seized frozen beef, worth RM296,998.91, from Australia in a container at West Port, Port Klang, near here last Monday.

Selangor Maqis, in a statement on Wednesday , said the seizure was made when its officials stopped the container during a routine check and found it containing 24,987.96 kilogrammes (kg) of frozen meat, but without valid import permit.
