ALOR GAJAH: Another police station under the Alor Gajah contingent will be closed until July 22, following Covid-19 cases detected among its officers and personnel.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad Abu said the Durian Tunggal police station would be closed from 2pm Monday (July 19) until Thursday (July 22).

He said three other police stations - Rumbai, Gadek and Machap - will temporarily complement the functions of the Durian Tunggal station.

"Crime prevention patrols around the Durian Tunggal police station will be reinforced by the Alor Gajah police headquarters," Supt Arshad said on Monday (July 19).

On Saturday (July 17), the Kuala Sungai Baru police station was also closed until July 26 due to Covid-19.

Supt Arshad said the decision to halt the operation of the Kuala Sungai Baru station was made after several officers and personnel tested positive for Covid-19, as well as advice from health officials.
