Johor police investigating video of people eating durians at PPV centre


JOHOR BARU: Police here are investigating a video showing a group of people eating durians while neglecting standard operating procedures (SOPs) at the Dewan Jubli Intan Sultan Ibrahim vaccination centre (PPV).

This comes as a 26-second video clip is making its rounds on social media showing a group of people eating durians without social distancing or wearing face masks.

Some of those eating the durians are seen wearing uniforms.

Johor Baru South OCP Asst Comm Mohd Padzli Mohd Zain confirmed that police were investigating the incident.

“We received a police report at around 3.41pm on Sunday (July 18), pertaining to SOP violations by the group of people as shown in the video,” he said.

When asked if the group of people are those on duty at the PPV Dewan Jubli Intan Sultan Ibrahim, ACP Mohd Padzli said the case was still being investigated, including identifying those in the video.

He added that the case was being investigated under Section Section 17(1) of Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 2021.
