FT Minister fined for SOP breach in Pak Lah visit

KUALA LUMPUR: Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa has been issued a RM2,000 compound for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP).

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said Annuar had breached the rules on movement restrictions by visiting former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at his home on Saturday.

“It is in violation of the SOP,” he said, confirming that the compound had been issued.

The offence came to light when Annuar tweeted on Saturday that he and his wife had made a two-hour visit to Abdullah’s residence in Kuala Lumpur.

They had lunch together, according to Annuar’s Twitter post.

The tweet has since been deleted.

Annuar’s office confirmed that the minister had received the compound notice.

“He will settle it as soon as possible,” the minister’s office said.
