Over 22,000 people to benefit from e-Kasih under Johor's third economic stimulus package

JOHOR BARU: Some 22,071 people are expected to benefit from the e-Kasih initiative under the Johor Ihsan 3.0 economic stimulus package.

Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad said that he hopes the one-off RM500 cash assistance would help those facing financial difficulties.

"I hope that the assistance would help to lighten the financial burden of its recipients. The state government is always prepared to help the people through various initiatives, including financial aid during this difficult time," he said in a statement here on Saturday (July 10).

Hasni said this after handing over a RM1.791mil mock cheque to the Johor Baru district officer Abdul Rahman Salleh to be distributed to e-Kasih recipients from the district.

He also handed over the RM500 to five e-Kasih recipients during the event as well as assistance in the form of basic needs and food to the Johor Baru district office and Yayasan Bandaraya Johor Baru.

Also present was state women, family and community development committee chairman Zaiton Ismail.

Last month, the Johor government has unveiled its third and largest economic stimulus package yet worth RM241mil to up its Covid-19 pandemic management efforts and provide financial relief to the people.

Hasni said the Ihsan Johor 3.0 economic stimulus package, which touches on 33 initiatives, was aimed at empowering the state’s management of the pandemic and strengthening social safety.
