PUTRAJAYA: Parliament staff and officials will be vaccinated against Covid-19 soon in anticipation of the reopening of the Dewan Rakyat sitting, says Khairy Jamaluddin.

The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister said this was to ensure that every single person assigned to parliamentary sessions will be fully vaccinated.

“This will involve staff working at Parliament, including cleaners and caterers.

“MPs have also been informed that their aides who will be working at Parliament with them are eligible for vaccination,” he said at the weekly Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) press conference.

Khairy added that some 400 Parliament employees have already started receiving jabs at various vaccination centres (PPVs) in Kuala Lumpur.

Parliamentary sessions have been put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing Emergency proclamation.

The Emergency is scheduled to end on August 1.
