No running away: 50 Klang joggers issued compound notices for violating MCO

KLANG: More than 50 joggers were issued compound notices for violating standard operating procedure (SOP) violations near the Jambatan Muda Nala here on Sunday (June 13).

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Shamsul Amar Ramli said the incident occurred at around 6pm on Sunday.

"Our enforcement team went to the area after receiving a tip-off on mass activities and jogging there.

"When the team reached the location, they found a number of individuals had parked their cars near the barriers and were jogging and loitering on the bridge, which has been closed since the movement control order came into force," he said in a statement on Monday.

He said the officer at the scene contacted an officer from the Selangor police headquarters Covid-19 control centre for further instructions.

"The officer was then ordered to issue compound notices to everyone at the location.

"The Selangor police headquarters also sent their own enforcement team to back us up.

"We issued 54 RM2,000 compound notices to everyone there," he said.
