Technical issues delay sign-up for AstraZeneca vaccine registration

PETALING JAYA: The latest round of AstraZeneca registrations were slightly delayed as the site’s technical team worked to update it.

On Twitter, the Covid-19 Immunisation Taskforce (CITF) notified applicants about the delay saying registration would begin at 12.15pm instead of noon on Wednesday (May 26).

However, in the first 15 minutes after noon, the “register now” button appeared and disappeared from the website and some applicants later received a notification telling them they have been blocked from the registration site at www.vaksincovid.gov.my while others received a message to indicate that there were too many requests to access the site.

The site could finally be accessed around 12.20pm.

On Twitter, the Covid-19 Immunisation Taskforce apologised for the delay and inconvenience it caused to those who were waiting to register.

Meanwhile, those slated to get their jabs at that time were also having issues with the MySejahtera app at vaccination centres.

YH Loh, 47, a journalist, said the app was unable to display the vaccination status page when asked by workers at the iDCC vaccine dispensing centre in Shah Alam at 12.20pm.

At the registration counter, workers said they would be switching to manual entry methods instead.

However, the process remained seamless and there was no apparent delay in the process, with queues moving along swiftly
