KUALA LUMPUR: Police have busted an online gambling centre in Cheras.

City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Saiful Annuar Yusoff said eight people were arrested in the raid on Tuesday (May 18) at a condominium in Desa Petaling.

"Ten laptops, 18 handphones and 22 SIM cards were seized during the raid. All suspects, aged between 18 and 40 years old, will be remanded today," he said in a statement on Wednesday (May 19).

"Preliminary investigations showed that the call centre had advertised its activities to the local market and that the premises was rented since April, at a monthly rate of RM3,000.
