Body of eight-year-old swept away in monsoon drain found

SEREMBAN: The body of an eight-year-old boy who was swept away after he fell into a monsoon drain near here on Saturday (May 8) has been found.

A state Fire and Rescue Department officer said Mohammad Syafiq Mustaqim Mohammad Fadly's remains have been sent to the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital forensics unit.

The victim was playing with his nine-year-old brother and a 12-year-old friend near his house at Flat Cempaka in Seremban 2 when he slipped and fell into the drain.

It was raining heavily when the incident happened.
