PETALING JAYA: Nineteen new clusters were identified by the Health Ministry on Friday (May 7), says Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The Health director-general said out of the 19 clusters, 10 involved workplaces, four from community transmission, three linked to religious activities and two linked to the education sector.
He said the Persiaran Perpaduan USJ cluster involved the Petaling, Klang, Kuala Selangor and Kuala Langat districts in Selangor and has 43 cases to date.
The cluster was detected after a targeted screening of staff members at a public administrative centre in Subang Jaya.
The Jalan Nouvelle cluster is located at the Hulu Langat and Petaling districts in Selangor and has 21 cases.
The cluster was found via a targeted screening of workers at a factory in Jalan Nouvelle in Nouvelle Industrial Park in Balakong.
The Jalan Manjalara Idaman cluster is located in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur and has eight cases.
It was found after a targeted screening of restaurant workers in Jalan Manjalara Idaman in Bandar Manjalara.
The Udang Harimau cluster has six cases and involved the Kepong district in Kuala Lumpur.
It was found after a targeted screening of workers at a factory in Jalan Udang Harimau 2 in Medan Niaga Kepong.
The Jalan Besar Pasir Mas cluster involved the Pasir Mas district in Kelantan, with 29 cases to date.
It was detected after screening of workers at a restaurant in Jalan Besar, Pasir Mas.
The Blok D Jalan Pending cluster involved the Kuching, Bau, Sibu and Samarahan districts in Sarawak.
It has 54 cases to date and was detected after a targeted screening of staff members of a services company in Blok D, Jalan Pending, Kuching.
The Jalan Kempas Pago cluster is located in Muar, Johor and has 77 cases to date.
It was found after a targeted screening of workers at a factory in Jalan Kempas, Pagoh Industrial Area in Muar.
The Ladang LSP cluster involves the Kinabatangan and Sandakan districts in Sabah, with 20 cases detected after a screening of plantation workers in Kinabatangan.
The Jalan Perusahaan Empat cluster involves the Kerian, Larut, Matang, and Selama districts in Perak.
It has 26 cases and was detected after screening of workers at a factory in Jalan Perusahaan 4, Kamunting, Larut, Matang and Selama.
The Jalan PKAK Ayer Keroh cluster was detected in the Melaka Tengah district and has 10 cases to date.
It involves workers at an accommodation centre in Jalan PKAK and Jalan PKAK 2 at the Ayer Keroh Commercial Centre.
The Pulau Ketam cluster involves the Klang, Petaling, and Sabak Bernam districts in Selangor, and emerged from social activities by the community. To date, there are 22 cases detected in the cluster.
The Penurin cluster is a community cluster, which involved the Betong and Kuching districts in Sarawak, and was detected through a pre-operative screening.
The cases were detected in Kampung Penurin, Betong, with 23 cases detected to date.
The Kampung Kochang cluster is located in Pasir Mas, Kelantan, and has 24 cases to date.
It is a community cluster with cases found in Kampung Kochang, Bunut Susu in Pasir Mas.
The Dah Lengkuas cluster is located in Kota Setar, Kedah, with 16 cases detected.
It is a community cluster, with the index case residing in Taman Lengkuas, Simpang Empat, Alor Setar.
The Jalan Limbang cluster is a cluster linked to religious activity, and is located in Miri, Sarawak.
The cases were reported in Jalan Limbang, Taman Tunku, Miri, with 18 cases found so far.
The Beladin cluster is also a cluster linked to religious activity, involving the Pusa district in Sarawak.
The transmission of the cases took place in Kampung Hilir Beladin in Pusa, with 46 cases found to be positive.
With 28 cases so far, the Dah Utama cluster is also linked to religious activity and involves the Kuala Muda district in Kedah.
The cases emerged mainly from Jalan Utama Alor Setar-Sungai Petani, Gurun in Kuala Muda.
The Jalan Pahlawan Empat cluster involves an educational institution under in Johor.
It involves the Johor Baru and Kulai districts, and has detected 13 cases out of the staff members and students at a school in Jalan Pahlawan 4, Taman Ungku Tun Aminah in Skudai.
The Jalan Midah Besar cluster emerged from an educational institution along Jalan Midah Besar, Taman Midah in Cheras.
There are 11 cases so far, involving staff members and students there.
