Sungai Duan EMCO expanded to include six more longhouses, one school, says Ismail Sabri

PETALING JAYA: Six more longhouses and a school in Mukah, Sarawak, have been placed in an extension of the enhanced movement control order (MCO) owing to new clusters, says Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

In his daily update on the MCO, the Defence Minister said the earlier enhanced MCO at nine longhouses at Sungai Duan, Jalan Bukut, Balingian, Mukah, had to be expanded to include more longhouses.

They are Rumah Panjang Belayong, Rumah Panjang Tepi, Rumah Panjang Minggu, Rumah Panjang Rimong, Rumah Panjang Undun, Rumah Panjang Lindan and SK Sungai Duan, said Ismail Sabri.

He said a construction site at the Baleh Hydroelectric Dam in Kapit, Sarawak, will also be placed under enhanced MCO.

He added that the following areas will end their enhanced MCO on Tuesday (April 27): Taman Villa Mas (Tawau, Sabah), Kampung Melangkap Tomis (Kota Belud, Sabah), Sim-Sim housing and market as well as Kampung Sungai Obar Batu 7 (Sandakan, Sabah), four villages in Temerloh (Pahang), Pusat Komuniti Bersepadu Pulau Serai (Pekan, Pahang).

The task force monitoring SOP compliance conducted 63,602 inspections on April 25 and 420 people were arrested for MCO violations, Ismail Sabri said.
