Dang Wangi cops want Twitter user to come forward to help in extortion investigation

KUALA LUMPUR: Dang Wangi police are urging a man who claimed that a group of foreign workers under his employment had been extorted by a policeman to come forward and assist in investigations.

District OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said Saturday (April 24) that the allegations came to light via a Twitter post on Thursday (April 22).

"The user, who goes by the username Pie-U Ammar Amin, said he was unsatisfied that a policeman had extorted his workers at Jalan Imbi.

"We have taken note of the issue and call upon him to come to the Dang Wangi police station to assist our investigations. We will investigate the matter to see if the allegations are true," he said.

He added that the police will ensure all investigations will be conducted thoroughly and that no policeman will be protected over the incident.

On Twitter, the man claimed that 10 of his workers were extorted of RM200 each in the incident.
