Cops: Victim's young children witnessed mother's murder

IPOH: The stabbing of 31-year-old K.Krishna was witnessed by her two children aged 6 and 8, says Perak CID chief Asst Comm Anuar Othman.

"Based on our initial investigation, the siblings were at home when the incident happened. They managed to run and seek help from a neighbour," he said,

Comm Anuar said that the man who allegedly stabbed Krishna is her boyfriend.

"Upon arriving at the location, we found a woman and a man lying at the hall of the house, both covered in blood. We found stab wounds on both of them on their chests. The woman was declared dead while the man is in a critical condition," he said.

He added that the police have yet to determine if the wounds on the man were self-inflicted or made by another person.

Comm Anuar added that a knife was found and said that it is believed to be the murder weapon.

It is believed that the single mother was preparing dinner for her family before the man ambushed her at home.

"The 23-year-old unemployed man has been harassing the victim and was arrested by the police earlier in March for trespassing into the victim's house," he said.

"The man is currently being treated at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital and the police will arrest him for his statement. We will also call other witnesses for their statements, including the children," added Comm Anuar.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
