King, Queen express condolences to Toh Puan Norkiah's family


KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah has expressed their condolences to the family of former Sarawak Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abang Muhammad Salahuddin Abang Barieng, following the passing of his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Norkiah.

Their Majesties also expressed their sadness over the passing and hoped that the family would be patient and resilient in this difficult situation.

"Their Majesties pray for Allahyarhamah’s soul to be blessed by Allah and placed among the righteous," read a statement posted on Istana Negara’s official Instagram on Wednesday (April 14).

Norkiah passed away at about noon today at the age of 72 at Sarawak General Hospital due to a brain haemorrhage. - Bernama
