EMCO in five areas in Pekan from April 9-22

KUALA LUMPUR: Five areas in Pekan, Pahang will be placed under an enhanced movement control order from Friday (April 9) until April 22.

Senior Minister (security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Health Ministry had conducted 495 screenings to date and 67 Covid-19 positive cases were recorded in connection with the Teknologi Peramu Jaya Cluster there.

"The Health Ministry confirmed the spread of infection with a high probability of transmission. After conducting a risk assessment together with the MCO technical committee, on the advice of the Health Ministry, the government has agreed to implement the enhanced MCO from April 9 to April 22 at Taman Mentiga Jaya, Taman Perdana, Perkampungan Peramu Jaya 3, Taman Sepekan Makmur and Kampung Pulau Serai," he said in a statement on Thursday (April 8).

He said the enhanced MCO would be in place to ensure the movement of residents in these localities is limited to avoid further spread of the virus within the community.
