SIBU: The Region 5 Marine Police foiled an attempt to smuggle in RM21.5mil worth of illegal cigarettes and liquor on March 12, making the largest contraband seizure in Sarawak so far this year.
The contraband was stashed in 18 containers on board a cargo vessel and six Indonesians aged between 22 and 39 were arrested, state police commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail said on Wednesday (March 31).
