PETALING JAYA: The suspect who had escaped from the police after a chase along the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) has been arrested.

"The 27-year-old suspect was arrested at a house in Bukit Kiara. He had tried to hide behind the house before being successfully arrested at 8.30pm on Thursday (March 25)," said Senior Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal in a statement on Friday (March 26).

The Petaling Jaya OCPD added that the suspect had a prior record for drug and criminal offences.

"He has been remanded for four days and the case is being investigated under Section 307 (attempted murder) and Section 188 (disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant) of the Penal Code," SAC Nik Ezanee said.

Earlier on Thursday afternoon, the police were forced to fire at a car after the suspect had attempted to ram his vehicle into the police during the chase.

The car was successfully stopped near SS25 but the suspect had fled the scene.

Checks on the vehicle led to the discovery of various items believed to have been used for vehicle break-ins.
