KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah's youth wing has lodged a report with graft investigators against Sebatik assemblyman Hassan Gani Amir following his defection from the party last month.
Warisan Wira (youth) deputy chief Ismail Ayub lodged the report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sabah office here on Friday (March 5).
"We will leave it to the MACC to investigate," he told reporters later.
Declining to give specifics, Ismail said he provided the MACC with various documents related to Hassan's commitment to remain with the party when he accepted his candidacy as well as events leading to his resignation from the party.
Hassan quit Warisan on Feb 25 and announced that he was becoming an independent friendly to the ruling Gabungan Rakyat Sabah state government.
He has withdrawn all previously pre-signed letters of resignation as an assemblyman after Warisan submitted to State Assembly Speaker Datuk Kadzim Yahaya.
Kadzim has decided not to accept the resignation letter after Hassan informed him that he has withdrawn all previous commitments through a statutory declaration.
Warisan also plans to file a suit against Hassan.
