Johor PKR deputy chief confirms Tebrau MP has quit the party

JOHOR BARU: Johor PKR deputy chief Jimmy Puah Wee Tse has confirmed that Tebrau MP Steven Choong has quit the party.

When contacted, Puah, however, said the party has yet to receive any letter from Choong indicating his intention to leave.

“He has not given us any letter indicating that he is leaving and the reasons why he left.

“We last spoke about two days ago to discuss constituency matters. The rumours (of him quitting) had already been going on since then and he told me that it was untrue, ” he said.

At press time, efforts to contact Choong, a first term MP, have not been successful despite numerous attempts.
