KUALA LUMPUR: A collision between two cars and a motorcycle occurred after a senior citizen driver accidentally ran a red light.

The incident on Sunday (Feb 14), which was caught on camera, left the motorcyclist with light injuries to the leg and body.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement department chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said that the accident occurred at the Jalan Pintasan Segambut traffic light.

"According to the dashcam footage, the driver of a Honda City, aged 71, had run a red light at the junction, before crashing into a Kenari and a motorcycle.

"The Honda City driver got confused at a turning as he saw a motorcycle in front of him that had moved, so he followed along.

"He only realised that it was a red light after the collision," he said in a statement.
