Penang's senior police officer passes away


GEORGE TOWN: A senior police officer attached to state police contingent passed away on Saturday (Feb 13).

Penang Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department chief Senior Assist Comm Zundin Mahmood died at about 4.40pm due to a lung infection.

SAC Zundin passed away at intensive care unit (ICU) ward in Penang Hospital.

The former Temerloh OCPD was chosen to head the state Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department in October 2019, replacing Datuk Mohamad Anil Shah Abdullah.

He leaves behind a wife and two sons.

He will be buried at Masjid Saidina Hamzah Muslim cemetery at Kampung Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur.
