Cops issue compounds to 10 for violating MCO at cafe in Shah Alam


SHAH ALAM: Police issued compounds to 10 patrons at a cafe here for movement control order violations.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Baharudin Mat Taib (pic) said his compliance task force team conducted a check on the cafe at Section 13 here at around 9.25pm Thursday (Feb 11).

"They saw 10 people sitting at a table which is not in compliance with the standard operating procedures in place.

"Currently, only two people are allowed to sit at a table," he said when contacted Friday (Feb 12).

He added that all 10 individuals were issued compounds on the spot.

"We also arrested a 35-year-old Bangladesh national for working there without a valid work permit.

"The owner of the cafe has been identified as a man who is currently in Port Dickson," he said adding that the man has been called to the Shah Alam police headquarters to assist further investigations.

He said investigations by the Shah Alam City Council revealed that the premises was operating without a valid licence.
