MUCH like everyone else, the livelihood of popular dangdut singer Amelina has also been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, reported Harian Metro.

The singer, who had a few shows and events lined up, had to put these on hold due to the movement control order.

“I don’t know what else to say. I just accept what is happening. What is going on is no one’s fault, ” said Amelina.

She said during the conditional MCO, there were a few offers to perform but with adherence to strict standard operating procedure.

“It was not the same as before. Now, there are no more shows and events.

“What is even more painful now is that the promotion for my new song Ada Untukmu also can’t go on as planned, ” she said, adding however that she was thankful for the support shown towards her.

Amelina said initially, she did not take Covid-19 seriously but infections within the community and the increase in the daily toll had been a wake-up call for her.

She said during a phone call with her mother, she also found out that some of her acquaintances had passed away due to Covid-19.

> Berita Harian reported that Suria FM presenter DJ Lin had to be hospitalised due to a severe allergic reaction.

On the positive side, the 46-year-old tested negative for Covid-19.

“My allergy was so bad, it caused my blood pressure to be unstable. I had vertigo.

“Luckily, I got admitted to a private hospital in Damansara when I developed trouble breathing, ” she said, adding that her chest felt tight and uncomfortable.

“The doctor had to put me on oxygen to help me breathe, ” said DJ Lin, who real name is Roslinda Abdul Majid.

Doctors, she said, were still in the midst of diagnosing her allergy, adding that she had been treated by four specialists so far.

She was thankful she did not have Covid-19.
