PETALING JAYA: Umno Youth has lodged a police report against former attorney general Tan Sri Tommy Thomas over his book "My Story: Justice in the Wilderness".
The report was lodged by exco members Muhamad Nur Aizat Noor Azam and Datuk Muhammad Muqharabbin Mokhtarrudin at the Jalan Travers police station on Thursday (Feb 4).
"Umno Youth has lodged this report because the allegations by Thomas are serious and inaccurate and has aspects that bring about several negative perceptions towards the public.
"The book is more akin to a ‘political satire’ and that it is an attempt to hide his (Thomas) mistakes as attorney general," it said in a statement.
Umno Youth added that Thomas' allegations could besmirch the image of the country's judiciary and legal system.
Several figures in the book have publicly denied the events that were depicted in the memoirs, including former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who had refuted claims that the Yang di-Pertuan
Agong proposed Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to replace him as interim prime minister during last year’s “Sheraton Move” political crisis.
