Elderly man injured in shooting incident at TTDI restaurant

KUALA LUMPUR: An elderly man suffered injuries near his armpit after a shooting incident at a restaurant here.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar said the incident occurred at around 12.30pm on Sunday (Jan 31).

"The 69-year-old man was cleaning the kitchen at a restaurant along Jalan Aminuddin Baki, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, when he suddenly felt pain near his armpit and saw a wound.

"He looked down and saw a metal object which resembled a bullet near his feet," he said in a statement on Monday (Feb 1).

He said the victim went to a private clinic for medical treatment.

"We have classified the case as attempted murder and causing injury with arms without lawful excuse," he said.

ACP Anuar urged anyone with information on the incident to come forward immediately.
