KLANG: A husband was arrested by the police for allegedly biting and beating his wife here.
"A report was made by a 31-year-old woman on Jan 28 who claimed she had been beaten by her husband with a padlock.
"An arrest was made in front of a hotel in Jalan Kapar Batu 5 Saturday (Jan 30) at around 12.20am.
"Investigations showed that the couple had been married for four years and have a child together.
"They had argued before and this incident occurred after the suspect wanted to throw out the complainant from their home because he had found another woman," said North Klang OCPD Asst Comm Nurulhuda Mohd Salleh in a statement Sunday (Jan 31).
ACP Nurulhuda added that the complainant was beaten and bitten after she refused to leave.
"She suffered injuries on her shoulder after being bitten.
"Checks showed that the man did not have a police record.
The 37-year-old suspect has been granted police bail and the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing harm," she said.
The case has been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor's office for further action.
