NADIA Brian has rejected the lead role in a 12-episode Hollywood series that requires her to go nude, reported BH! Ahad.
The actress said her initial excitement of getting the role turned to disappointment when she scrutinised the script, only to find that it called for her character to strip for several steamy scenes.
“Those are on top of the kissing scenes. Perhaps being naked is no big deal in Hollywood but I am not willing to do it.
“I may dress sexily but I will not undress on set to do steamy scenes for a streaming platform in Hollywood, ” said the 30-year-old.
Nadia said such roles would sully her reputation as well as her family’s good name.
“I have to admit, all actors have a dream to act for Hollywood.
“But we are Malay and Muslim, our culture is just not the same as Hollywood’s, ” she added.
Had she accepted the role, filming would begin this month and run for six months in Ireland.
“But it is all right, it is just not my luck, ” said Nadia.
