KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a man was found in the Sungai Klang near the Pantai Dalam PPR Flats here.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar said they were alerted at around 12.10pm on Saturday after receiving a call from a woman.

"She told us that she saw a body was floating in the river near the flats and we dispatched personnel to investigate.

"The Fire and Rescue Department also responded to the incident and helped to retrieve the body for further checks," he said in a statement on Saturday (Jan 23).

He said based on the condition of the body, it is believed to have been in the river not more than 48 hours.

"Checks also revealed injuries to the forehead, most likely caused from hitting rocks while being carried away by the current.

"The body has been taken to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for a post-mortem exam," he said adding, that the case was being investigated as sudden death.
