KUALA LUMPUR: Police have detained three individuals to assist investigations over an alleged child abuse case after a five-year-old girl was found dead in a condominium here.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai said that the death was reported on Jan 2 at around 2.45pm.

"When the police arrived at the scene in Jalan Ipoh, the victim was found lying on the bed with clothes on. A physical examination on the victim led to the discovery of several scratches and bruises on the body and leg areas.

"Three suspects, aged between 22 and 61, were arrested for further investigations. They are the child's nanny and the nanny's children," he said in a statement on Sunday (Jan 3).

ACP Beh added that the postmortem report is still pending.
