SIBU: There will be no countdown to the New Year across Sarawak but a state-level event will be held at Stadium Perpaduan in Kuching.
State Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said though the stadium could accommodate up to 5,000 people, only 1,000 would be invited due to the standard operating procedure (SOP).
