Ismail Sabri: 122 arrested for various MCO violations nationwide


PUTRAJAYA: Police arrested 122 people for various movement control order violations, says Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic).

These violations include not practising physical distancing, not using face masks in crowded places and failure to register customers.

Police on Monday (Dec 21) also made more than 40,000 checks including on supermarkets, restaurants, hawkers, factories, government offices, banks and transport terminals to ensure compliance.

Ops Benteng saw the arrests of 63 illegal immigrants and seized four vehicles.

“Action will be taken against those who enter the country illegally, ” he said on Tuesday (Dec 22).

Ismail Sabri also said that 299 sanitisation operations were carried out nationwide on Monday.
