Murder at PPR flats solved, six arrested

KUALA LUMPUR: The murder of a 21-year-old victim at a housing project here has been solved, after six suspects linked to the killing were arrested.

"The arrests were made on Dec 5 between 12.45pm and 11.15pm. All were caught within the Klang Valley and the suspects are aged between 24 and 42.

"Preliminary investigations showed that three of the newly arrested suspects were responsible and directly involved with the murder," said Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai in a statement Sunday (Dec 6).

He added that the motive of the murder was due to drug distribution.

"They have been remanded for seven days. With these arrests the case has been deemed solved," he said.

On Nov 25, the victim was slashed by two men on a motorcycle at the Taman Intan Baiduri People's Housing Project.

The victim had initially gone to the PPR with a friend to set up tents at about 8am then.
