IPOH: Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will seek an audience with Perak's Sultan Nazrin Muizuddin Shah on Sunday (Dec 6).

Dewan Negara Perak (the Advisory Council to the Ruler) member Datuk Seri Mohd Annuar Zaini (pic) said Ahmad Zahid will meet the Sultan Perak at 10am at Istana Kinta.

"Sultan Nazrin has granted an audience with Pakatan Harapan leaders and they presented their opinion about the ongoing political issue in Perak. Perak Umno chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad also met with Sultan Nazrin to present his views.

"He (Sultan Nazrin) listened to all the opinions but it is not his responsibility to interfere with the issue.

"He advised them (those who met him) to find the best solution," he said, adding that Sultan Nazrin has granted Ahmad Zahid's request for an audience.

Annuar said he was also told that Umno will hold a special meeting on Saturday (Dec 5) night.

When asked if any of the parties has the majority to form a government, Annuar didn't comment further.

"I can only share what was presented at the Palace, about their stand and their current efforts," he said.

Separately, Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal will not meet Sultan Nazrin for the second time.

At the state assembly sitting on Friday (Dec 4) morning, Faizal had lost the motion of confidence in support of him as the Mentri Besar.

Of the 59 assemblymen, Faizal only received 10 votes in favour, while 48 voted against him with one abstained vote.
