GEORGE TOWN: Jalan Dato Keramat is temporarily closed to traffic for rescuers to douse a house fire nearby on Tuesday (Dec 1).
Dozens of firemen are on the scene to put out the fire at the premises, which started about noon.
The house is believed to be a vacant.
Thick smoke can be seen billowing from the scene and photos of the scene taken from Komtar have since gone viral.
Penang Fire and Rescue Department (fire operation and safety) officer Nafis Ariff Abdullah said the house was 90% razed while five other adjacent premises sustained minor damages.
"The fire is under control and no victims were reported," he said.
