KUALA LUMPUR: The police are making their rounds in Cheras to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the first day of Deepavali.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohamed Mokhsein Mohamed Zon said police personnel were deployed to check on SOP compliance at 19 temples and housing areas on Saturday (Nov 14).

"I visited a few temples and houses in Taman Tenaga, Salak Selatan, and the residents are adherering to the SOPs.

"A few temples were also empty with no visitors," he said.

He urged the people to comply with the SOPs as they celebrate Deepavali.

"The fight against Covid-19 is far from over. Let's do our part in breaking the chain of Covid-19 infections," he said.
